2025 marked a significant year for DCSAACI, defined by thoughtful dialogue, artistic excellence, and vibrant cultural engagement. The year featured discussions on two important and timely topics, reinforcing the organization’s role as a trusted platform for intellectual exchange and meaningful community connection.

Guided by effective management and strengthened by a dedicated core volunteer team, along with the unwavering support of our patrons, DCSAACI achieved remarkable milestones. Their continued belief in our mission, governance, and commitment to excellence enabled the organization to present impactful South Asian arts and cultural programming throughout the year.

A key intellectual highlight of 2025 was DCSAACI’s engaging book discussions, including a distinguished session held in partnership with the Montgomery County Senior Connection Book Club. The discussion centered on Women Who Wear Only Themselves: Four Travelers on Their Sacred Journeys by Arundhathi Subramaniam, offering rich reflections on spirituality, identity, and inner transformation. The session featured Arundhathi Subramaniam as the author, with the conversation thoughtfully moderated by Dr. Anita Nahal, fostering deep literary insight and meaningful dialogue among participants.

Additional literary engagements included a thought-provoking discussion on Do More Good by Neil Ghosh, moderated by Dr. Pallavi Guha, which inspired dialogue on ethical leadership, social responsibility, and purpose-driven action. This was complemented by another enriching session on Earth and Sky by Daler Aashna Deol, moderated by Manju Gupta, encouraging reflective discussion and literary appreciation.

Key cultural highlights of the year included the 14th DC South Asian Film Festival, which celebrated diverse cinematic voices and compelling narratives, and the Annual Wheaton South Asian Festival 2025 – Kaleidoscope of South Asian Culture, a vibrant celebration of art, music, heritage, and community spirit.

A standout cultural moment was “Three Generations, One Legacy,” an extraordinary musical evening featuring the brilliance of the Sarod Quintet. Audiences witnessed a historic performance as the legendary Ustad Amjad Ali Khan shared the stage with Amaan Ali Bangash, Ayaan Ali Bangash, Zohaan Ali Bangash, and Abeer Ali Bangash, creating an unforgettable celebration of legacy, continuity, and artistic mastery.

The music programming was further enriched by a captivating musical odyssey by renowned vocalist Kaushiki Chakraborty, whose exceptional artistry and commanding stage presence added depth, elegance, and emotional resonance to DCSAACI’s offerings.

The holiday season was marked by “A Holiday Season of Gratitude,” reflecting appreciation, unity, and collective purpose. Additionally, the Annual Wheaton South Asian Festival 2025 featured a lively Karaoke Music session with local talents Rajiv Paul, Parasuram Iyer, and Diptanu Das, celebrating grassroots artistry and active community participation.

Together, these initiatives reaffirmed DCSAACI’s commitment to preserving cultural heritage, fostering meaningful dialogue, and promoting excellence in South Asian arts and culture. The achievements of 2025 stand as a testament to the power of collaboration, vision, and sustained community support.
