Message from Our Executive Director, Manoj Singh
As we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the DC South Asian Film Festival, I am filled with gratitude and pride for what we have accomplished together. What began in 2012 on a university campus with many unknowns, curiosity, and a passion for storytelling has grown into an internationally recognized platform for independent filmmakers to share their work with diverse audiences. Over the years, we have screened hundreds of feature films, documentaries, and short films, partnered with organizations such as the Embassy of India, Montgomery County Senior Connection, Montgomery College, American University, and Towson University, and received recognition from local, state, and federal leaders. More importantly, we have built lasting friendships, learned invaluable lessons, and connected audiences with powerful stories that might otherwise never have been seen. I am deeply grateful to our dedicated volunteers, filmmakers, sponsors, partners, grant organizations, donors, consultants, members, and patrons whose support has made this journey possible. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us bridge cultures through cinema for the past 15 years—we look forward to continuing this journey together for many years to come.
