His relationship with his wife Mahajabeena is the heart of his story. Sonal believes that nothing comes out of pure imagination. There is always a link between fiction and reality- the events occurring in your life inspire you to build up the world of characters in the story. She is currently based in Mumbai with her husband and four-year-old son and is working on a fiction novel, which would trace grey areas of human need and greed. Alka Joshi was born in India and raised in the U.S since the age of nine. She has a BA from Stanford University and an MFA from California College of Arts. Joshi’s debut novel, The Henna Artist became a New York Times bestseller and a Reese Witherspoon Bookclub pick, was translated into 23 languages, and is being developed into a Netflix limited series. The sequel, The Secret Keeper of Jaipur, is also being translated into multiple languages and will be followed by a third book in the trilogy in March, 2023.

Maureen Bunyan is an accomplished and respected veteran of broadcast news. In her career of nearly fifty years, forty-four of which were spent in Washington, DC, she was a lead news anchor and reporter for 2 major television stations, host of 2 newsweeklies, correspondent for a PBS newsweekly, and president of her communications consulting practice. She is a co-founder of two major journalism organizations: The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) (1975) and the International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) (1985). Bunyan served as a Trustee of Tuskegee University, on the boards of the Agnes & Eugene Meyer Foundation, the National Commission on Working Women, and the National Women’s Hall of Fame, among others. Bunyan is the recipient of numerous professional and community service awards, including 8 Emmys from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, inductions into the NABJ Hall of Fame, the Hall of Fame of the Washington Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Silver Circle of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. She has received three honorary degrees and been inducted into the Order of Orange-Nassau by H.R.H. Willem-Alexander King of the Netherlands for her “exemplary contributions to society”.She holds a Master’s Degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. Bunyan was born in Aruba and is of Guyanese descent.

Anil Chopra’s first novel, Unforeseen Desire, is a poignant coming of age story set in the 1970s against the beautiful backdrop of Dehradun. His one-time guardian, Ruskin Bond recalls how quickly Anil devoured Mr. Bond’s library during the time they stayed together. Perhaps it was the biographies of greats like Pasteur and Lister that led Anil to a career in medicine, and the ambiance of that library and the company of Mr. Bond, that drew him to express his literary talents. Anil was born in New Delhi and grew up in Mussoorie with his then guardian, Ruskin Bond. After finishing medical school, he went to Great Britain where he earned a medical degree from the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and Glasgow and went on to become a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin, Ireland.

Devdutt Pattanaik is an Indian mythologist, speaker, illustrator and author, known for his writing on Hindu sacred lore, legends, folklore, fables and parables. His work focuses largely on the areas of religion, mythology, and management. He has written books on the relevance of sacred stories, symbols and rituals in modern times; his more popular books include Myth = Mithya: A Handbook of Hindu Mythology; Jaya: An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata; and Sita: An Illustrated Retelling of the Ramayana and My Gita. Pattanaik has incorporated the Mahabharata and the Ramayana into human resource management. Pattanaik is a columnist for Mid-Day, Times of India, CN Traveller, and he hosts a radio show/podcast for Radio Mirchi, called The Devdutt Pattanaik Show.
