Director: Ankit Poudel

Ankit Poudel is a Nepali filmmaker. He is a producer, director, cinematographer and screenwriter. He completed his MFA in Cinematic Arts at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA. He was awarded the Infinite Scholarship 2017 by Infinite Studios, Singapore; Chancellor’s Award at University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee 2019 and 2020; and the Adoor Gopalakrishnan Fellowship, 2020. His works have been screened at various film festivals including Sundance Film Festival, ShortFest Palm Springs International Film Festival, DokuFest, Kyiv IFF Molodist, Raindance Film Festival, Festival du nouveau cinĂ©ma and Atlanta Film Festival. He was awarded ‘Best Cinematography Award’ at Indie Cyprus International Short Film Festival, 2018 for Short film Gya(z). His films have been awarded ‘Best Art Film’ in Asolo Art Film Festival 2020, Bronze Remi-award at WorldFest Houston 2020, ‘Grand Prix’ at Split Film Festival 2020, Honorable mention at Lima Alterna Festival Internacional de Cine 2020 and Best Narrative award at Kathmandu International Mountain Film Festival 2020. He is a member of Sundance Institute Collective and Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective.
